South America

  • Chile + Easter Island

Wild. Rugged. Natural. Diverse. Defining a place whose untouched landscapes and undisputed beauty leave us speechless is a tall order.

Chile’s extreme contrasts are highlighted by the Atacama, the driest desert on earth, and Patagonia’s ice fields, fjords, turquoise glacial lakes, and craggy mountains. The terrain is as diverse as the activities available.

Enjoy heli-skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding, or hikes set at your own pace. Our familiarity with this region allows us to personalize and optimize your time.

Santiago is the meeting place of conquistador-era Latin America and the brash new modern vanguard of the continent. It is also home to one of the world’s most complex wine regions.

  • Peru + Amazon

Lima stuns lovers of gastronomy at every level from the roadside taxi driver’s favorite to the latest Enfant terrible chef’s offering. Colca Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world and home to Andean Condors and natural hot springs.

Add to this, luxury cruises on the northern Amazon River as it weaves past impenetrable rainforests and all manner of river and jungle life. And, of course, there is the sacred Inca Trail and the dazzling Machu Picchu.

The best way to see this diverse country is by luxury train. This elegant form of transport allows you to travel in style with the Sacred Valley and Lake Titicaca as a backdrop.

  • Argentina

The rhythm and sway of Argentina is intoxicating. Days spent enjoying active adventures and epicurean delights are followed by languid nights of Tango and romance. Buenos Aires is deservedly referred to as the Paris of the Southern Hemisphere with outdoor cafes on sun-drenched plazas and wide boulevards. Iguazu Falls and the surrounding jungle showcase the power and diversity of nature.

Mendoza produces a spectrum of fabulous wines against the backdrop of the majestic Andes Mountains. Learn to play polo, barbecue Asado style in remote Estancias, or just combine Argentina with neighboring Chile and Uruguay to complete the Latin American triumvirate.

Argentina is a gateway to Patagonia and the Bariloche Lake District making this Latin American country a must-see.

  • Ecuador + Galápagos Islands

Ecuador's perfect trifecta: Quito, its colonial capital city bursting with culture and charm; the fragile ecosystem of the Galápagos Islands, home to wildlife found nowhere else on earth; and the active opportunities that await in the Cloud Forest, nestled between the lowlands and highlands of the Andes Mountains.

Ecuador’s protection of the Galápagos Islands allows its various species to roam free. This Pacific archipelago has a range of habitats that attract and sustain specific wildlife. San Cristóbal Island is a birdwatcher's paradise. The iconic blue-footed, red-footed, and Nazca boobies are native to this island. Santiago Island’s black lava fields contrast flora such as prickly pear cacti and fauna including orange sally lightfoot crabs.

  • Uruguay

Progressive Uruguay is a supremely welcoming and egalitarian country. The tiny beach enclave of José Ignacio has magnificent beaches … all barefoot luxury.

Use the opportunity to learn polo at a local Estancia when taking a break from surfing some of the best breaks in Latin America.

There is a distinct pride around outdoor dining, with grilling all manner of ingredients a particular focus. The wine region is rapidly evolving, producing some unique offerings including brawny, wholesome, and rustic varieties.

The Río de la Plata creates an estuary where freshwater fishing reigns supreme. It is home to one of the first villages in the country across from colonial Colonia.

  • Bolivia

    Bolivia

The only way to describe Bolivia is otherworldly.

Bolivia is a place of superlatives ... La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America, Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest salt flat in the world, and Altiplano, the sunniest place in the world. You get the idea. It is also the only place where you can find thousands of Dinosaur footprints at Cal Orko. Expect the unexpected.

We approach this frontier with care, as it is not a typical luxury destination. It is a place for true adventurers whose thirst for off-the-beaten-path experiences outweighs some of the comforts of home. This is a country that appeals to people who like to color outside the lines.

  • Colombia

Virgin rainforests, remote coffee-growing lands, and the Northern Pacific coast. This is Colombia off the beaten track—a rich, rewarding, and diverse country.

Regeneration is everywhere and Medellin, Bogota, and Cartagena offer distinct experiences.

Rafting, nature treks, waterfalls, and exotic food combine to make this a must-visit destination.
